Welcome to The Den, Manhattan Park District’s before and after school program! The Den is a positive and exciting environment for your children to spend time with friends, work on homework, learn new games and activities, make art and science projects, and play! The Den’s curriculum is rooted in engaging and encouraging growth through positive social interaction, physical movement and activity, and learning through play.
The Den is open to all K-5th grade students in District 114 and begins at 6:30 am, ending at 6 pm. The program takes place at Wilson Creek Elementary School, with Anna McDonald students bused between the schools. Fees include snacks and drinks, and flexible installment billing options are available.
Fees for the 2019-2020 school year include a $25 enrollment fee.

Early Dismissal Days
Open to all students! On early dismissal days, The Den begins right after school with extended care offered until 6 pm.
Open to all students! School is out but The Den is open! Full day programs with before and after care options.
Full-day holiday camps for K-5th grade students at Central Park and the Hansen Community Center during fall, winter and spring breaks. Before and after care available.
NOT JUST FOR WORKING PARENTS!
Payments can be made using cash, checks, e-pay, ACH (automatic debit from checking), or credit card. The Den follows the District #114 school calendar beginning on the first day of school and ending on the last day of school and is available on school days off! Please return all registration forms to our office by fax (815-478-3428), email to email@example.com or drop off at the Hansen Community Center (397 S. State) at your earliest convenience.

If you pay your registration fee online you will still need to complete The Den’s registration forms and return them prior to your child’s start date. You may return form four ways: drop at the Hansen Community Center during business hours, place in drop box after hours, fax (815-478-3428) or email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Aveda has worked with the Manhattan Park District for 13 years in the before and after school program, and also works at Nelson Ridge School caring for students at lunch and recess. Aveda is happily married with three children and two wonderful granddaughters.
Taylor Medeiros is the Site Director of The Den Before and After School Program. Taylorbegan working with The Den at the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year, but has more than ten years of experience with child care and before and after care programs. Working in childcare is her passion, and she loves having the opportunity to see each child grow and become amazing people. Taylor enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends, baking delicious desserts and playing with her three cats.
Sarah is new to The Den but absolutely enjoys being a part of the fun, and working with the students each afternoon. Sarah is planning to attend community college next year and will pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
